It saddens me that people (our government) will not even consider this issue when it is election year, and any other year.
The benefits of medical marijuana are far greater than taking any oral medication for the same problems.
I have had AIDS now for almost ten years. Before I was diagnosed with AIDS, I weighed 200 pounds. Now that I have been POZ for 10 years I am at 155 pounds. And I have to say, I would weigh much less if it were not for this medicine. Also to go along with this diagnoses, I am Bipolar type 1. And I have been using this medicine to also treat my bipolar disorder. It silences all those voices in the back of my head, levels me off so that people around me can tolerate me. And to add due to my HIV/AIDS, I have neuropathy in my hands and feet. The pain at times from this can be unbearable, so much so that I find it hard and painful to walk at times. If not for Medical Marijuana, I would be laid up in bed at those times. I have tried many medications for all of the above. None of which worked without ill side effects. And most did not work at all.
I am not for legalization for recreational use. I think that drug abuse is a very important issue to consider when it comes to all of the above. And if a person has a history of drug abuse, then many factors should be considered. But, when it comes to the well being of a patient that needs" SOMETHING" and can be treated with Medical Marijuana, then that should be an option given to the patient. After all, Doctors prescribe drugs that are far worse and cause more damage than Medical Marijuana ever could.
I wish there were something that I could do in the fight for legalization for medical uses. But it seems our Government in West Virginia will not even consider the bill. That just is not right. Especially when our government is to represent us (the people of America). Medical Marijuana should be put to a vote at the ballet box. Let the people decide. Especially when our government will not even consider it.
Maybe one day it will be legal, and all of the benefits from medical marijuana will be made known.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
